Louisville, KY Vets
All Pets Veterinary Center
All Pets Veterinary Center is one of the few clinics in the Louisville, KY area that treats exotic pets with experience and proper facilities. It is a privilege for us to highlight some of our staff's veterinary field experience and expertise.
Staff Bios:
Hello, my name is Missy Jewell, MS, DVM.
I am a Louisville native and a 1998 graduate of Auburn University Vet School. I have practiced small animal and exotic animal medicine for over 10 years in the Louisville area.
All Pets Veterinary Center is a newly opened facility that provides high quality, comprehensive medical care for traditional pets and all species of exotic pets. I have extensive experience treating cats and dogs and have received specialized training in exotic animal medicine from multiple institutions, including an internship at the Louisville Zoo.
I truly believe that pets are members of your family and I understand the special bonds that you develop with them. I believe that diagnostics are essential to providing proper treatment and that education is the key to both maintaining health and successful therapy.
My husband and I currently share our house with 3 dogs, 3 cats, 4 birds, 1 rabbit, 1 guinea pig, and 1 iguana.
Vicki Gilmore Receptionist/Financial
I have lived in the Louisville area for over 40 years – settling here after being raised in the military. I had never worked in the pet care field until I came to work for Dr. Jewell as receptionist/bookkeeper, but must say I love the every day challenges associated with a thriving vet practice. I had always worked in business offices doing secretarial work, this is certainly a welcome change of pace for me. I live in Crestwood with my husband Douglas, our three dogs and five cats…all of our pets are rescues and two of our cats are special needs, Katie is blind and Gracie is as Dr. Jewell says a “wreck”, but these things just make them all the more endearing to us… I have been a volunteer with Shamrock Foundation for 15+ years, I also volunteer at Yew Dell Botanical Gardens in Crestwood. I love gardening and spend many of my off hours working in my yard – I consider myself a landscape gardener – as I do not grow vegetables!
Judy Dugan, LVT Receptionist/Office Manager
Veterinary Technology is my second career after 25 years in chemical production management. I have a BA in biology/chemistry/equestrian studies and AAS in Veterinary Technology. When I was younger, I owned horses which I competed in combined training and dressage. Now I share my life with three Dalmatians that I have trained in obedience and rally. I am very interested in canine behavior and attend seminars to keep up to date. I have been successful applying the behavior research to positive training methods. Recently, holistic medicine has been another topic of interest to me. I also enjoy sewing when I am not working or training the dogs.
Aimee Smith, Veterinary Assistant
Hello! My name is Aimee Smith. I came to Kentucky in 1991 to pursue my love of horses into a career. I was involved in the Thoroughbred industry for a number of years before seeking a change. I have been a part of the veterinary community since 2001 and my interest increases daily. I will complete my 2nd B.S. in Biology with a minor in agriculture in May 2012. I am currently applying to veterinary school and hope for acceptance into the class of 2016 (Auburn!!). I currently live with my husband, 2 children, 5 dogs plus 1 foster dog, 4 cats, a guinea pig, leopard gecko and a Congo African Grey parrot. We are active in Rhodesian Ridgeback Rescue as a foster home and I am also the Kentucky state rescue coordinator.
Melissa Wolff, Veterinary Assistant
Drawn by their love and compassion, I have always gravitated to animals of all shapes and sizes. I surrounded myself with their joyful spirits at an early age. This love for animals didn’t manifest into my professional life until the untimely death of my mother. This event sent me soul searching and seeking to find some light in my life. Animal rescue was my first avenue, giving my time and love to the animals at Shamrock Foundation and Animal Care Society. Still wanting to do more and always being one of strong constitution, I set forth to find employment as a Vet Tech. It has been nearly a decade since that choice was made and everyday I learn more and find new souls with which to show love and compassion to. I am truly blessed to have found my joy job in helping people and their babies in their journey together. Thank you! !
